Half-Term Visitor Attracting
It was half-term recently in the UK. Let us see how three visitor attractions, which feature sheep, used sheep as visitor draw at that time.
Lambs were a focus.
Cannon Hall Farm held a ‘Lambing Festival’. The offer in relation to sheep was:
‘Introductions to the new arrivals
Daily talks from our farmers
Bottle feeding demonstrations (when our lambs need it) Please note visitors do not take part in this demonstration unless they paid for VIP Bottle Feeding Experience
Sheep … racing and farm talks’
The Big Sheep farm and theme park’s offer in relation to sheep was:
“Lambing Live” and
‘Watch our World Famous Sheep Race
Meet & Greet the Animals
Bottle Feed the Lambs’
Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park’s offer in relation to sheep (and which is to be available until 19th April) was:
‘Live Lambing On The Farm
Meet our newborns
Daily talks at 11am and 2:30pm
Insight from our expert team’
It must be that the three attractions planned very carefully for lambs - so appealing to people - to be present and arriving at time of the, early in the year, half-term. It can be imagined that, without lambs as lure and entertainment, visitor numbers would have been less great. For noting is that - to varying degrees - the attractions delivered education to visitors about sheep.
The half-term time of lambs will have served the attractions’ and the visitors’ objectives. But somewhat absent for the ewes and their new lambs will have been their needed peace and no disturbance.
